    Seven killed in Afghan bombing

    At least seven people were killed in a bomb blast in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz Saturday, the provincial governor said.

    An unknown number of people were injured in the explosion in the centre of Kunduz, the capital for the province of the same name, Kunduz Governor Mohammad Omar told DPA.

    He said police and civilians were among the dead and injured, but gave no further details.

    Taliban militants are active in Kunduz province, which is located in an otherwise peaceful region.
